The PHP term is stands for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor.

PHP is the dynamic language for modern web-developers. Its popularity stems from its easy of use, easy database accessing and of course its portability.

Web developers can embed their own PHP scripts into HTML code, that's why the main goal of the PHP language is to allow web developers to write dynamically generated pages quickly.

Much of its syntax is borrowed from C, Perl and Java, but with its unique PHP-specific features.
